Base Oil

Description

Sebacates are materials that are used as plasticizers in synthetic resins, rubbers, and other applications. They are often used in liquid form and are effective at low temperatures. Sebacates are derived from castor oil, a bio-based raw material, and can adhere to other materials like steel, glass, and metals. They are also highly fire-resistant.

Some examples of sebacates include:

  • Dioctyl sebacate (DOS)

A colorless or light yellow, oily liquid with a distinctive smell. It can be used as a plasticizer, in Dot 5 brake fluid, and in ester-based engine oils and additives.

  • Glyplast DIDS

A di(isodecyl sebacate)-based plasticizer that is resistant to evaporation loss.

  • Glyplast DOS

A bis(2-ethylhexyl sebacate)-based plasticizer with good mechanical properties at low temperatures.

  • MONOCIZER W-280(DOS)

A di-2-ethylhexyl sebacate grade with excellent low temperature properties.

  • Dibutyl sebacate

Used in nail polishes to increase flexibility and durability, and as a solvent for fragrance oils in perfumes and colognes.
