Description
PACIFIC HONEX 8920 is a high viscosity, highly sulphurised honing oil specifically blended to greatly reduce or eliminate material welding to the abrasive surface during processing of certain ferrous materials. This product was developed to combat welding of softer DOM and seamless, plain carbon structural steel materials like the popular St52 seamless materials commonly used to manufacture hydraulic cylinders and other products. These materials are not intended to be heat treated and retain their only strength from the initial manufacturing process. This type of material will often tear during the honing process and weld to the face of vitrified abrasives causing moderate to deep scratching of the bore surface, thus causing protracted polishing cycles. PACIFIC HONEX 8920 with its ultra-high viscosity and sulphur content work well with sulphurised, vitrified abrasives to reduce and often times eliminate welding.
